In beautiful, warm sunshine, a gathering of Talbot owners enjoyed a delicious tea and the opportunity to get out and about to meet fellow Members at Neil and Carole Lucas’s beautiful house in Chalfont St Peter. It was great to catch up and chat to Members old and new.
A selection of Talbots had braved the Buckinghamshire weekend traffic and lined up on the manicured lawn, augmented by a Lagonda, Jaguar and Porsche.
Neil had also arranged for us to visit John Milton’s Cottage a stone’s throw away. Our splendid guide explained that, whilst Milton is best known in Britain as the author of Paradise Lost, foreign visitors, especially Americans, know him for his political writing. Indeed, his work forms the main part of the Second Amendment of the US Constitution which guarantees freedom of speech.
It was a delightful and relaxing day, just what was needed after such a difficult period.
Thanks to Neil and Carole for hosting the event, providing excellent scones and cake, and arranging the trip to Milton’s Cottage.
