The TOC AGM 26th Apr 2025

The Talbot Owners’ Club AGM was held at the De Havilland Trust Museum at London Colney on Saturday 26th April. 

Club Secretary, David Roxburgh, gave an overview of the Club’s activities in its 90th Anniversary year. These were many and varied, extraordinarily so for a relatively small Club and, with 17 different events, over half the Membership participated in something, some in several events. Our traditional Sunday lunchtime strawberries and champagne at VSCC Prescott attracted over 150 Members and their partners – surely a record.

Those members of the Committee with individual responsibilities reported on the past year starting with Neil Lucas who explained the sound finances of the Club. Howard Day noted that Membership numbers have remained constant over recent years, even after Covid. David Roxburgh ran through the events of the year as well as covering the Magazine. Glyn Lloyd’s IT report indicated just how good our website now is, with further developments in hand to make the running of the Club more robust. Julian Hunt covered archives, where we are making strides to digitise and make available to Members all that the Club holds. Ian Potts noted that used spares sales are good and made a plea to consider donating to the TOC if you are having a garage clear-out. He explained that the Club now has additional storage capacity so there is no space limit on what we can accept.

The following trophies were announced:

The Talbot Owners’ Club Trophy to Fred Herzog who has contributed a great deal to the Club, from organising tours to creating the TOC Instagram page.

The Georges Roesch Trophy was awarded to Mike Morton for his wonderful 1914 4CB Sports which was on display at VSCC Prescott last year.

The Mike Couper Shield goes to Robert Frankcom for his sporting achievements over the years.

The Percy Lambert Trophy was awarded to Glyn Lloyd who, in spite of not actually owning a Talbot, contributes enormously to the Club, especially, but not only, in the area of IT and website development.

The Rawlings Trophy went to Harry Sear for his use of ‘Lavinia’, his 14/45 Tourer in which he plans to circumnavigate the country next year.

The Fox and Nicholl Trophy is awarded to Peter Loxston who uses his BD75 Special as his daily driver!

The Arthur Archer Trophy goes to Michael Birch who has consistently graced the racetrack in his Talbot over many years.

The John Young Trophy was awarded to Andrew Horn as a thank you for his work as Membership Secretary over the last two years.

Following the meeting, the group was treated to a rather exhaustive but informative tour of the Museum, the highlight of course being the Mosquitos under restoration.
