Kop Hill Climb Festival and Chilterns Tour 21st Sep 2019

We have a good entry of cars already registered for the Chilterns/Kop Hill weekend, but there is room for just a very few more. Full details of how to register were set out on page 4 of the March/April Club magazine.

With the weekend’s activities starting from Old Amersham, accommodation has been reserved at The Crown Hotel, 16 High Street, Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0DH. Tel no. 01494 721541. email: reception@thecrownamersham.com 

Preferential rates have been agreed for the 20th & 21st September, bed & breakfast per night for a standard double room £120, and a deluxe one for £145. Just mention Talbot Owners Club to obtain these rates. Reservations need to be made before 15 July to be sure of the accommodation being available.

Below is a brief timetable of the weekend.

Friday 20 September

11.00am meet in Old Amersham for the start of a drive through the Chiltern Hills. Stop for pub lunch, and then continue drive to arrive at Penn House for a complimentary tea and guided tour of the house. 

Check in at your pre-booked accommodation before meeting at 7.00pm at a local restaurant for drinks and evening meal. 

Saturday 21 September, 2 options, either

Drive to the Kop Hill Climb for the Talbot display, procession of Talbots all in line up the Hill at midday, do the Hill Climb if pre-booked, and participate in all the activities at Kop Hill,

Or. Meet at Royal Saracen’s Head in Beaconsfield to take part in the replication of the first event undertaken by the TOC in June 1934. The route will head towards Bourne End, Marlow, Kop Hill, Aston Clinton. Evening, 7.00pm meet at local restaurant for drinks and evening meal.

Sunday 22 September

Choose from Saturday’s options so you have the choice of doing one or two of the days at Kop Hill.

Prepare for drive home in the late afternoon.
