A tour of the NE of England is planned for June 2018. The date has been fixed to coincide with the Beamish Reliability Trial and it is hoped that some members will support this, which is an optional extra day.
The tour will commence with a group meal on Sunday evening at Lumley Castle Hotel, DH3 4NX, very close to Beamish.
The Beamish Reliability Trial is an annual event for cars, motor cycles & commercial vehicles built before 1956; it starts & finishes at the Beamish open-air museum. The trial starts around 10am, travelling south through stunning countryside to North Yorkshire, the route is approx. 150 miles.
Those not wishing to take part in the Beamish may wish to soak up the flavour of the event by visiting Bainbridge, between Leyburn & Hawes where there is a lunch halt or at Romaldkirk where afternoon tea is available.
These spectator points could easily be worked into a route from the south to the start of the tour.
