Our tour will start with the delights of a 3-night weekend at Vintage Montlhery (wonderful laid-back French style with the very best, fascinating range of cars seldom seen in the UK) in the southern outskirts of Paris. Our hotel is located close to the station for an easy train ride to the centre of Paris for a spot of sight-seeing or retail therapy on the free day; alternatively you could relax and explore Chevreuse, or treat yourself to a visit to Versailles, or go to the track - the choice is yours.
We will then head east on Monday morning through the Champagne area, to the historic town of Sedan for 2 nights, where we have a free day to explore a little of the stunning Ardennes. This mountainous and heavily wooded region was the scene of bitter fighting in WW2 as the Germans launched a surprise counter-attack. The natural grandeur of the Ardennes is evident as we meander towards Spa (location of the F1 circuit which hosts the Belgian Grand Prix), and to our friends in Maastricht. Our 2-night stay is being arranged by our local members (‘The Mafia’), and with the stunning Old Town in Maastricht to savour, we are guaranteed a great visit.
Leaving on Friday, we have a chance to see some of the historic sights of Belgium and the Netherlands as we ultimately head to the coast and home.
Saturday morning sees us sweep west towards our overnight ferry from Hook of Holland.
Numbers are limited to a dozen cars. Open to all members.
Recommended ferry options are Portsmouth/Le Havre, and Hook/Harwich (your own choice and booking)
Any questions, of course, just ask; importantly do not delay if you are interested. Contact the Club Secretary, David Booth.
